Tierra West's very own John Yonai and Lauren Yonai recently attended the Environmental Bankers Association's Annual Conference in beautiful San Diego, California!
Environmental Bankers Association (EBA) is a non-profit trade association that represents the financial services industry, including bank and non-bank financial institutions, insurers, asset management firms and those who provide services to them. The EBA meets formally twice a year. The meetings provide not only a forum to promote the exchange of environmental risk management and sustainable development lending information and technical expertise, but also provides the opportunity for its members to network and discuss industry best practices.
Along with Elizabeth Krol and Kun Zhao of global engineering, architecture, and consultancy firm Ramboll US, John and Lauren joined an informative panel discussion entitled "Navigating the Increasingly Complex Community Engagement Requirements as Part of Site Cleanups". Developments in highly urbanized environments, particularly in those that are considered disadvantaged communities, bring with them a number of challenges when dealing with approvals from regulatory agencies for environmental cleanups.
Our team was thrilled to share its experiences working on site clean-up projects in the Lynwood and Bell Gardens communities in Southern California, especially the targeted engagement efforts done inside those wonderful communities.
If you're interested in hearing more about Tierra West's ongoing efforts to connect decision-makers & communities with the funding sources, regulatory bodies, and grant-makers that make transformative public/private partnerships happen, please don't hesitate to contact our team!
